LOS ANGELES (AP)—Nick Young scored 19 of his season-high 24 points in the first half as USC cruised to a 74-58 victory over the Citadel Tuesday night.
Young made all six of his first-half field-goal attempts and 6 of 7 free throws.
His burst of early scoring gave USC (2-1) a 14-7 lead with 13:29 to play in the first half. Young’s 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining gave the Trojans a 39-27 halftime lead.
Loderick Stewart scored 12 points and Taj Gibson scored 10 for the Trojans, who led by as many as 27.
Kevin Hammack led the Citadel (1-5) with 17 points, and Vytautas Valiulis scored 11 as the Bulldogs dropped their fifth consecutive game.
