FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP)—Trent Wurtz had 21 points, nine rebounds and four steals Sunday to lead Indiana State to a 67-61 victory over IPFW.
The Sycamores (2-1) took a 37-29 lead at halftime and held off the Mastodons (1-3) in the second period for the victory.
The only other Indiana State player in double figures was Marico Stinson, who hit 6-of-7 shots in 19 minutes off the bench and finished with 13 points.
IPFW had three players in double figures, with Quintin Carouthers at 14 points, DeWitt Scott at 13 and Tyler Best at 10. IPFW had 13 more shots than Indiana State but shot only 37 percent from the field to the Sycamores’ 50 percent.
