CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP)—A.J. Jackson scored a game-high 25 points and Derek Coleman and Jeremy Chappell chipped in 19 points each to lead Robert Morris to a 96-72 win over Florida International in the Colonials’ season opener on Monday.
Jackson converted 10 of 18 field goals, including two of four 3-pointers. Chappell converted 8 of 10 field goals, finding the basket on all three of his 3-point attempts.
Jackson also had a game-high eight rebounds. Tony Lee had 13 points and seven rebounds for Robert Morris. Colson Senat scored 12 points.
Florida International (0-2) was led by Dejon Prejean with 16 points and five rebounds. Johwen Villegas scored 13 points and Alex Galindo and Chris Fuller had 11 each.
