NEW YORK (AP)—Corey McCrae made all six of his 3-point attempts and shot 7-for-8 from the foul line for a career-high 25 points as Fordham snapped a four-game losing streak with an 83-74 upset victory over La Salle on Wednesday night.
Bryant Dunston added 20 points and Jermaine Anderson 14 for the Rams (13-15, 8-7 Atlantic 10).
Steve Smith scored 21 points on 14-of-26 shooting from the field for the Explorers (17-9, 9-6), who lost their second straight after winning their previous seven. Jermaine Thomas added 17 points and Darnell Harris had 11.
Thomas made three 3-pointers as La Salle, which trailed 47-36 at halftime, opened the second half on a 13-3 run to close to within one at 50-49 with 15:33 remaining.
The Rams then scored eight unanswered points on 3-pointers by Marcus Stout and McCrae, and a jumper by Dunston to make it 58-49 at 12:39.
A pair of free throws by McCraw with 9:06 left in the game made it 67-54, and the Explorers never got closer than seven.
Smith’s layup at 10:19 of the opening half gave La Salle its last lead at 16-14.
Dunston then scored seven points and Anderson had five in a 20-7 run that gave the Rams a 36-21 edge with 4:11 remaining. Dunston’s jumper closed out the stretch that produced the biggest lead of the half.
