Preview | Box Score | Recap

WASHINGTON (AP)—Linas Lekavicius scored 4 of his 15 points in the second overtime and Andre Ingram hit 3-pointers to force both extra periods in American’s 65-63 win over Army on Wednesday night.

Ingram, who scored 13 points, also hit a 3-pointer to give American a 62-57 lead before fouling out late in the second overtime. Derrick Mercer added 13 for the Eagles (6-11, 2-2 Patriot League).

Jarrell Brown scored 22 points for Army (4-12, 0-4), which could not hold leads at the end of regulation and the first overtime.

Ingram scored on an open look from the right side to tie the game at 57 with 14 seconds left in the first overtime. He knotted the score at 50 with 10 seconds left in regulation, shooting from the left wing with a hand in his face.

Brown had a good look at a 22-footer that would have won it for Army at the end of regulation, but it bounced off the rim. Before that, Dan Borcherdt missed a free throw that would have put Army ahead.

Trailing 25-18 at the half, American opened the second half on a 12-3 run, taking its first lead of the half when Eitutavicius’ inside floater made it 30-28. ^
