DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—Brian Roberts scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half to help Dayton pull away from Central Michigan in a 61-36 victory on Wednesday night.
Monty Scott added 15 points and Charles Little had 10 off the bench for the Flyers (6-2). Dayton, ahead by only seven points at halftime, outscored Central Michigan 38-20 in the second half.
Giordan Watson led the Chippewas (1-5) with nine points.
Leading only 32-28 with 12:35 to play, Dayton scored 21 of 27 points over the next eight minutes to open a 19-point advantage. Roberts scored eight during the surge on two 3-pointers and a dunk.
After making only 9 of 25 shots (36 percent) from the floor in the first half, Dayton went 14-of-23 (60.9 percent) after halftime.
Central Michigan was held to 34.1 percent shooting and missed 11 of 12 attempts from 3-point range.
