INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Brandon Polk had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead a second-half comeback by Butler over Bradley 70-60 Tuesday night.
Butler (5-3) trailed 30-26 at the break, and the teams exchanged leads to begin the second half. But with 7:34 remaining, Butler took the lead for good on a 3-pointer by Bruce Horan, who finished with 11 points.
Butler put the game away by hitting 7-of-8 free throws in the last minute, all by Polk and A.J. Graves, who had 11 points.
Marcellus Sommerville led Bradley (3-2) with 23 points, hitting 9-of-16 from the field, including 3-of-6 3-pointers. Lawrence Wright had 13 points, and Zach Andrews scored 11 and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Also in double figures for the Bulldogs were Brandon Crone with 14 and Julian Betko with 11.
The teams were almost even from the field, with Butler shooting nearly 46 percent and Bradley 43 percent.
But the Bulldogs had a great night at the free-throw line, making 17 of 20 shots, for 85 percent. The Braves shot 64 percent on 9-of-14 shots.
