SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)—Jason Harris scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half to lead Sacramento State to a 106-94 victory over Long Beach State on Monday night.

Haron Hargrave added 20 points and DaShawn Freeman scored 17 for the Hornets (5-3), who played their second home game of the season.

Harris’ dunk gave the Hornets a 79-78 lead with eight minutes left in the game. Sacramento State opened up the game from there, getting a 3-pointer from Loren Leath to make it 90-82 and then sealing the victory by hitting 10 straight free throws in the last 2:44.

Jazz Henderson had 23 points and Dominique Ricks and Aaron Nixon scored 18 each for the 49ers (2-4), who are 0-4 on the road this season.

This is the first time since the 1991-92 season that Sacramento State has scored 100 points twice in the same season. The first 100-pointer came in a 100-61 victory over William Jessup on Nov. 22.

The Hornets led by nine midway through the first half before Long Beach State mounted a run to tie the game at 40. Aaron Nixon’s layup with 5 seconds left in the half gave Long Beach State a 49-47 lead.
