MADISON, Wis. (AP)—Alando Tucker scored 16 points as Wisconsin defeated Pepperdine 71-55 on Saturday.
Jason Chappell scored 15 points and Kammron Taylor added 12 and for the Badgers (5-1), who earned some revenge for a 75-61 loss to the Waves (1-4) last season.
Chappell scored 12 of his points in the first half, as Wisconsin built a 33-23 lead. The Badgers scored the first nine points of the second half, and held a double-digit lead for all but 14 seconds of the second half.
Brian Butch added nine points and nine rebounds for Wisconsin.
Tucker, playing with a mask after suffering a broken nose on Tuesday against Wake Forest, scored 14 points in the second half. He also grabbed six rebounds.
Chappell’s 15 points were a career high, marking the fifth time in six games that a Badger player has set a new personal scoring mark.
Michael Gerrity and Tashaan Forehan-Kelly led the Waves with 12 points.
