NEW YORK (AP)—Colin Harris hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer, leading Army to a 67-66 victory over Columbia on Friday night and snapping the Lions’ season-opening five-game winning streak.

Army (3-3) trailed by 10 points, 48-38, with 12:56 remaining before Dan Borcherdt hit six free throws over the last 6:29 and got the ball to Harris for the winner.

Harris finished with 22 points, Jarell Brown added 15 and Borcherdt 10 for the Black Knights.

Borcherdt hit two free throws with 48 seconds left to tie the game at 64-all.

Columbia’s Ben Nwachukwu countered with two free throws with 24.9 seconds left to give the Lions (5-1) a 66-64 lead.

Army’s only other lead in the game came at 36-35, when Brown hit a 3-pointer with 17:27 left in the second half. The Lions then went on a 9-0 run, with K.J. Matsui scoring five points and John Baumann four, to take a 44-36 lead.

Columbia scored the game’s first eight points, but the Cadets rallied within a point before the Lions opened up an 11-point lead. Columbia held a 35-31 advantage at the break.

Baumann led the Lions with 17 points, Nwachukwu scored 11 and Matsui had 10.

Army shot a season-best 22-for-29 from the line, including 10-for-13 in the second half. The Black Knights attempted only nine free throws in their previous game, a loss to No. 3 Connecticut.
