STONY BROOK, N.Y.(AP)—Justin Armstrong made a 3-point shot with 5 seconds left, capping a 15-3 run, to lift undefeated Columbia to a 55-54 victory Saturday over winless Stony Brook.
John Baumann led Columbia (4-0) with 16 points.
The Lions trailed 51-40 after Bob Santiago’s jumper at 4:57 of the second half. Armstrong, who finished with 11 points, had 10 during the rally against the Seawolves (0-3).
Columbia shot 60 percent (15-for-25) in the second half.
Hendrik Feist had 14 points and Antwan Hardy had 13 for the Seawolves. Feist scored nine points to help Stony Brook to a 21-7 lead at 8:01 in the first half.
The Lions went on a 10-3 run to trim the lead to 24-17 at halftime.
