ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)—Taylor Coppenrath scored 23 of his game-high 34 points in the first half to lead Vermont to a 77-52 victory over Siena on Tuesday.
Siena (2-9) had only eight players and was down to five after three players fouled out by the seven minute mark of the second half.
Vermont (4-3) used a 9-0 run eight minutes into the game to break a 9-9 tie and take command of the game.
The Catamounts took a 56-34 lead with 12:18 left following a 13-4 run and closed the game on a 21-6 run.
The Saints showed some life midway through the second half, using a 12-0 run to close within 56-44 with 7:42 remaining.
Jack McClinton led Siena with 16 points. Tay Fisher had 14 and Tommy Mitchell added 11.
Vermont’s T.J. Sorrentine finished with 13 points.
