GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Ronnie Burrell had 22 points and 10 rebounds Monday to lift North Carolina-Greensboro past William & Mary 84-62.
The Spartans (7-2) are off to their best start under sixth-year coach Fran McCaffrey.
Burrell notched his second straight 20-point effort, while Ricky Hickman added 20 points for UNC-Greensboro, which used a 20-1 run midway through the first half to take control.
Laimis Kisielius scored 15 points to lead the Tribe (3-5).
UNC-Greensboro outrebounded William & Mary 38-26 and blocked a school-record 13 shots.
The Spartans trailed 8-2 before scoring 16 straight points in that big run, taking a 22-9 lead. UNC-Greensboro led 41-32 at halftime and scored the first 10 points after the break, beginning with two free throws by Burrell after William & Mary coach Tony Shaver was whistled for a technical foul at the end of the first half.
