PROVO, Utah (AP)—Mike Hall scored 21 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Brigham Young to its highest scoring total of the season in a 90-77 win over Boise State on Wednesday night.
The Cougars (2-5) were 28-for-57 from the floor and made nine of 12 attempts in the closing minutes to seal the much-needed victory. BYU also made 11 of 21 3-pointers, getting six from Mike Rose, who finished with 19 points.
Trailing by eight at halftime, Boise State (4-3) jumped back into the game with an 13-5 run to tie it up before Rose built back the lead.
McNeal Thompson led the Broncos with 22 points and five three-pointers.
Hall, who finished with five assists, also shut down Jermaine Blackburn, who has been leading the Broncos in scoring, holding him to 4-of-14 shooting for nine points.
Five BYU players scored in double figures as the Cougar bench outscored the starters 48-42. Austin Ainge scored 14, Jared Jensen scored 13 and Keena Young finished with 11 points for the Cougars.
