DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—Mark Jones scored 10 points and hit two foul shots with 33 seconds left to help Dayton secure a 62-57 victory over Wyoming Tuesday night.
Dayton led by only one point before Jones made the foul shots. Trent Meacham and Nick Stafford then each went 1 of 2 at the line for the Flyers’ final points.
Brian Roberts led Dayton (2-3) with 11 points, and Stafford grabbed seven rebounds. Jones had five assists.
Dayton led Wyoming (4-2) 27-17 at the half and pushed the lead to 12 points at the 18:51 mark in the second half.
The Flyers led 58-51 with 1:54 remaining when the Cowboys went on 6-0 run to draw within a point.
Jay Straight led Wyoming with 19 points and six assists. Alex Dunn added 18 points an nine rebounds.
Dayton was 9 of 19 from 3-point range for 47 percent, while Wyoming was 5 of 16 for 31 percent.
