INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Brandon Cole had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Akeem Clark scored 21 as IUPUI beat Colorado State 77-67 Saturday night.
Clark was 4-of-6 from 3-point range and 5-of-7 from the stripe as the Jaguars (2-1) never trailed.
The Rams (3-1) outshot the Jaguars in the second half with 42.4 percent compared 37.5 percent for IUPUI, but were unable to overcome a 40-27 halftime deficit.
Stuart Creason, Michael Morris and Jon Rakiecki led Colorado State with 10 each. Matt Nelson had 10 rebounds for the Rams.
IUPUI beat the Rams in the paint 30-24 and scored 30 points off turnovers compared with 24 for Colorado State.
