LAS VEGAS (AP)—Ike Diogu had game-highs of 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead Arizona State over Vanderbilt 87-68 in the third-place game of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational Saturday.
Diogu went 8-for-10 from the field and 14-for-16 from the free-throw line.
Also for Arizona State (3-1), Steve Moore had 20 points and made 4-of-6 from 3-point range, Kevin Kruger added 15 points and Serge Angounou scored 13.
Arizona State shot 28-of-48 from the field for 58.3 percent and was 8-of-12 from 3-point range for 66.7 percent.
Alex Gordon led Vanderbilt (3-2) with 16 points, going 3-of-5 from 3-point range, and Mario Moore and Shan Foster had 10 points apiece.
After Vanderbilt scored the first basket of the game, the Sun Devils went on a 14-0 run and never trailed again.
The Commodores answered with a 15-6 run, but came no closer, managing only to pull within eight, 41-33, in the second half.
The Sun Devils’ built their largest lead at 61-38 with 12:15 to go in the game.
Arizona State finished 3-1 in the Invitational, Vanderbilt 2-2.
