NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Corey Smith led six Vanderbilt players in double digits with a career-high 21 points, helping Vanderbilt to a 93-75 win over Cal State Northridge in the second round of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.
Dan Cage also scored a career-high, 14 points, and Dawid Przybyszewski scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Mario Moore added 16 while Shan Foster and Jason Holwerda each added 11 points for Vanderbilt (3-0).
Vanderbilt shot 59 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three.
Freshman Calvin Chitwood led Northridge (0-2) with 21 points, giving him 40 points in his first two college games against Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. Joseph Frazier had 15 points and Terrell Jones had 10 for the Matadors.
The Las Vegas Holiday Invitational is using an experimental three-point distance of 20-feet, 6 inches, nine inches further than the standard college distance, but that has not bothered Vanderbilt.
In two games, Vanderbilt has shot 50 percent, making 27 of 54 three-point attempts.
Vanderbilt blew the game open early, sprinting out to a 15-2 lead and extending it to 29-6 midway through the first half.
Vanderbilt and Northridge will play two more games in the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational on Nov. 26-27 in Las Vegas.
Vanderbilt will take on Southern Illinois and Northridge will face Tennessee State in the third round on Friday.
