AUBURN, Ala. (AP)—Frank Tolbert scored 21 points and Quinnel Brown added 19, leading Auburn to an 85-74 victory over Furman on Monday night.
Daniel Hayles had 15 points and Ian Young 13 for the Tigers (2-0). Tolbert scored 14 in the second half and shot 8-of-11 from the field overall.
Quan Prowell led Furman (1-1) with 19 points. Robby Bostain added 14, and Eric Webb 13.
Auburn opened the game with a 24-11 run in the first nine minutes and led by 10 with 6:30 left in the first half. Furman narrowed the margin with a 14-5 spurt, cutting the deficit to 38-37 at halftime.
