PEORIA, Ill. (AP)—Randy Burns scored 13 points as Wichita State beat Bradley 66-53 Wednesday night.
Wichita State (10-5, 3-2 Missouri Valley Conference) took a 41-21 lead at the half and hung on as Bradley had difficulty shooting. The Braves (8-8, 1-4) were 12-of-50 from the field, but converted 23-of-26 from the foul line.
Bradley rallied in the second half with a 23-8 run with Marcellus Sommerville scoring 11 points. They closed to 57-50 with 4:15 left, but that was as close as they would come.
Wichita State got help from Fridge Holman with 12 points and Rob Kampman added 10. Bradley was led by Sommerville with 22 points. Jason Faulknor, Joey Paul, Michael Rembert, J.J. Tauai and Danny Adams each scored five points.
