POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP)—Taylor Coppenrath scored 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lift Vermont to a 62-57 win over Marist Sunday.
T.J. Sorrentine added 18 points and three assists for Vermont (3-4). Scotty Jones led the Catamounts with 10 rebounds.
Marist led 37-29 with 16:37 remaining in the game before Vermont went on a 12-3 run over the next six minutes to go ahead 41-40.
The lead changed six times before the Catamounts took a 47-46 lead with just under eight minutes to play. Marist never regained the lead.
After a sluggish first half, the Catamounts shot 59.1 percent from the field in the second half while holding Marist (1-7) to 37.5 percent shooting for the game. Vermont outrebounded the Red Foxes 39-32.
Will McClurkin led Marist with 18 points. Carl hood added 11 points and Pierre Monagan grabbed 9 rebounds.
