BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)—Jaime Lloreda had 23 points and seven rebounds to lead LSU to a 78-69 victory over Troy State on Wednesday night.
Lloreda was 8-of-10 from the floor as the Tigers improved to 3-0. In Monday’s win over McNeese State, Lloreda had 30 points and 21 rebounds.
Antonio Hudson added 15 points, with Darrell Mitchell scoring 13 and Xavier Whipple 11 for LSU. Brandon Bass grabbed 11 rebounds and LSU outrebounded Troy State 35-28.
Troy State (1-1) led 34-31 early in the second half on a layup by Greg Davis, but LSU took the lead back at 37-35 on a 3-pointer by Hudson.
Troy State answered with a 3-pointer from Kendrick Johnson to make it 39-38, but the Tigers took control with a 16-2 run over the next five minutes.
