POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP)—Danny McElhinny scored 18 points, hitting 5-of-6 from three-point range, to lead Eastern Michigan to a 82-62 win over Marist in the consolation game of the the Pepsi-Marist Classic Sunday.

James Jackson scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Eagles (1-1). Michael Ross added 15 points and Markus Austin scored 12.

The Eagles jumped out to a 35-22 halftime lead. They hit 7-of-11 three-point attempts and shot 56 percent from the field for the game.

Eastern Michigan limited Marist (0-3) to just 38.8 percent shooting while converting 19 of 25 free throws.

Pierre Monagan led Marist with 15 points. Kerry Parks had 14 points for the Red Foxes and Eric Siegrist added 11.

Marist hit just 2 of 23 three-point tries and converted 8 of 13 free throws.
