PRINCETON, N.J. (AP)—Jason Forte scored 18 points as Brown defeated Princeton 80-73 Friday night, ending a 52-game road losing streak against the Tigers that was the longest in NCAA Division I history.

Brown had never won at Princeton in the series, which dates back to 1908. The Bears also had not defeated Princeton at home since 1995.

Earl Hunt, who finished with 15 points, made four foul shots in the final 20 seconds to thwart a Princeton rally.

Princeton’s Ed Persia, who had a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers, added 10 points in the final 1:27 as Princeton cut a 70-61 deficit to 74-71 with 25.3 seconds left.

Hunt then made his free throws and Forte made two more with five seconds left.

Neither team led by more than six points until 10 minutes remained in the game, and there were eight ties and 12 lead changes up to that point.

Spencer Gloger, Princeton’s leading scorer at 15.9 points per game, injured his right leg in a scramble under the Brown basket with 12:39 left in the game. He left the game and did not return, and finished with 12 points.

Brown (12-9, 7-0 Ivy League) improved on its best Ivy start in school history, and won its ninth straight game. The Bears hung on to first place in the Ivy League, a half-game in front of Penn, which is 6-0.

Princeton (10-9, 4-2) lost its second straight Ivy League game and dropped into third place.

The longest Division I road losing streak against one team now belongs to Clemson, which has lost 49 consecutive times at North Carolina.
