RUSTON, La. (AP)—Antonio Meeking had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to a 66-65 win over Western Athletic Conference rival Hawaii Thursday night.
Louisiana Tech (8-9) had three players in double figures, led by Meeking. Laveller Felton had 16 points and Zach Johnson added 13.
Johnson was fouled with nine seconds remaining and hit both free throws to give Tech the 66-65 edge.
Johnson then blocked a shot from Hawaii’s Carl English, the WAC Player of the Week, at the buzzer to preserve the Tech win.
Michael Kuebler led Hawaii (13-6) with 27 points. English has 15 points and Nkeruwem Akpan added 10. Mark Campbell grabbed 10 rebounds for the Rainbow Warriors.
