South Alabama 74, Samford 51
MOBILE, Ala. (AP)—Malerick Bedden and Chris Young each scored 17 points Saturday night as South Alabama defeated Samford 74-51.
Young hit five three-point shots and the Jaguars (6-4) hit 48 percent of their shots. A total of five South Alabama players scored in double figures.
South Alabama took a 37-31 halftime lead and then outscored Samford (4-6) 30-12 over the last 16 minutes to cruise to the win.
Demetrice Williams had 13 points and 7 assists for the Jaguars, while Henry Williams had 12 and Marques Ivy 10. Tyson Dorsey had 12 points to lead the Bulldogs.
