EUGENE, OREGON (TICKER) —Ninth-ranked Oregon has another easy non-conference opponent on its schedule Saturday when it puts its 22-game home winning streak on the line against Cal-Riverside.
Oregon (8-1) posted a 90-81 victory over Minnesota on Sunday behind 18 points from freshman Ian Crosswhite. Luke Ridnour and Luke Jackson combined for just 25 points on 7-of-25 shooting.
The Ducks took control with 14 straight points in the first half, taking advantage of foul trouble by Minnesota’s Rick Rickert. Oregon built a 38-31 halftime lead and notched the school’s 1,300th victory.
Oregon owns a 32-7 record when Jackson and Ridnour both score in double figures. The Ducks are 20-0 at home when that happens.
Ducks forward Robert Johnson is shooting a sizzling 77 percent (30-of-39) this season and has three double-doubles.
UC-Riverside (1-4) has not played since a 73-62 loss at San Diego last Saturday. Nate Carter came off the bench to make 6-of-9 shots for 24 points as the Highlanders shot a season-low 33 percent.
The Highlanders are 0-3 on the road this season, including a loss at Southern California in their opener on November 22.
This is the second meeting between the teams. Oregon posted a 100-89 victory on December 1, 1981.
