No. 11 Butler blows out NAIA school in exhibition

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Guard Shelvin Mack scored 12 points and center Matt Howard had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 11 Butler past Taylor 75-44 in an exhibition game Saturday.

Howard was the only Butler starter to play more than 20 minutes against Taylor, an NAIA school located in Upland, Ind., north of Indianapolis. Howard played 23 minutes.

Forward Gordon Hayward had 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Taylor shot 30 percent in the first half and 34.1 percent for the game, was outrebounded 41-24 and committed 17 turnovers compared with seven for Butler.

The Trojans were led by Casey Coons with 14 points.

The Bulldogs, who have the highest preseason ranking in school history, open the regular-season next Saturday against Davidson.

    Wright St. is not going to keep up with them. They will be trounced like everyone else in the conference will be.

    So what Wright State Raiders will blow butler out of the water this year{2010}.
