Louisiana Tech beats Maryland-Eastern Shore 73-54

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP)—Trevor Gaskins scored 15 points and had eight rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to a 73-54 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore in the Jim Thorpe Classic on Friday.

J.L. Lewis added 13 points and nine rebounds, while Cordarius Johnson scored 12, Romario Souza 11 and Michale Kyser 10 for Louisiana Tech (2-1).

Maryland-Eastern Shore (1-5) was led by Hillary Haley and Percy Woods, who had 15 points each.

Lewis sparked a run that turned the game in Louisiana Tech’s favor, sinking two jump hook shots during a 6-1 stretch that put the Bulldogs up 37-32 with 16:06 remaining. Kenyon McNeail made it 54-40 on a 3-pointer with 8:22 to play, and the lead eventually reached 20.
