SC-Upstate 82, Texas St. 74

EDINBURG, Texas (AP)—Ricardo Glenn scored 19 points, Torrey Craig had a double-double and South Carolina Upstate shot 57 percent to defeat Texas State 82-74 Sunday on the final day of the Texas-Pan American Tip-Off Classic.

Craig had 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Adrian Rodgers scored 13 for the Spartans (3-2), who made 31 of 54 shots. They also outrebounded the Bobcats 39-27.

Texas State (3-2) got a game-high 21 points from Eddie Rios, 11 from John Bowman and 10 from Matt Staff.

The Bobcats were hot from long range, sinking 11 of 19 3-pointers. The big difference came at the free throw line, where Upstate went 15 of 27 and Texas State just 7 of 14.

After Craig’s free throw broke a 5-5 tie with 15:52 to go in the first half, the Spartans led the rest of the way. Their largest lead was 16 points late in the game.
