On
all the floors used in the opening two rounds, the NCAA had put giant blue
"NCAA" stickers at midcourt, just in case viewers got confused and
thought they were watching the NIT, CBI, Euroleague finals, or reruns of Walker,
Texas Ranger.
North Carolina coach Roy Williams complained about the floor stickers, saying
that they were slippery and that players were going to get hurt. Tyler
Hansbrough and Marcus Ginyard both slipped on the stickers, and selfishly, Roy
believed that his players were entitled to things like "healthy knees and
ankles."
What a jerk! Completely disregarding the importance of pretty stickers like
that. Without those stickers, think of all the viewers CBS might have lost to
all the other amateur basketball games being played on Thursday afternoon. And
all because he doesn't want his players to be crippled. So selfish, that guy.
Roy eventually got his way, and the
stickers will be gone for the rest of the tournament. I'll remember that,
Roy, when I'm watching healthy basketball players at the expense of a pretty
blue circle in the middle of my screen. Jerk.
