Wayne Ellington was figuratively on fire this evening. Let's hope it stays right there, and no one literally sets themselves ablaze.
The News & Observer reports that local celebrations have so far been rowdy, but mostly peaceful, despite this warning earlier in the day:
Doctors with the N.C. Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Health Care had appealed to students not to set or jump through bonfires, and police urged people to be responsible and aware of hazards.
Apparently, they forgot to say "please." I hope everyone keeps it safe out there, because most of the time, immaturity + alcohol + fire = Someone suffering third degree burns.
Of course, the fires here look pretty weak. I don't see any couches in the mix, and anyone with a vertical jump as good as Serge Zwicker's should be just fine.
