IMAGINATIONLAND, NC -- On the heels of his historic unanimous selection to the AP preseason All-American team -- in which he received one vote from every single one of 72 voters -- and his team's unanimous No. 1 preseason ranking,
Tyler Hansbrough was selected Monday to the NBA All-Star Team and the
Baseball and Football Halls of Fame, the Real World/Road Rules veterans
squad, Survivor All-Stars, and as Dick Vitale's first ever lifetime
captain of the P-T-P'ers.
He was also awarded top honors on every Bravo game show, including Top
Chef and Project Runway; was given the Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes for
"Excellence in Basketball"; received the McArthur Genius Grant; and was
elected, in a last-minute runoff landslide, to the Presidency of the United
States of America.
President Hansbrough's 2008 dunk over UNC-Asheville's Kenny George
will be preserved in the Museum of The Moving Image, among countless
other honors. Hansbrough was also nominated for Best Actor in a Motion
Picture About Basketball.
Saying he was "totally psyched" about "being president and stuff,"
Hansbrough accepted every award in the history of mankind today, the
unanimity with which the awards were presented trumped only by the
benefactors' enthuasiasm.
"OH MY GOD," ESPN senior basketball analyst Dick Vitale said. "MY HEART
IS LITERALLY EXPLODING OUT OF MY CHEST, BAYBEE, WITH PRIDE AT THIS KID
TYLER! DID YOU SEE HOW HARD HE ACCEPTED THAT AWARD, THE AMOUNT
OF HEART HE PUT INTO REFINING HIS THESIS FOR THE GENIUS GRANT
PRESENTATION CEREMONY! HE IS ONE OF MY C.O. GUYS, THE CHOSEN ONE, AND I
MEAN THAT NOT LIKE LEBRON BUT LITERALLY LIKE CHOSEN BY GOD. HE'S ALSO A
P-T-P'ER! BAYBEE!"
Project Runway host Tim Gunn delivered a now-famous speech at the
show's finale, which lauded Hansbrough's gruff appearance and
"courageous" style as vital to his success. Gunn urged Hansbrough to
continue to "make it work."
Hansbrough is currently recovering from a shin injury that should
sideline him for a few weeks. His shin was named "Awesomest Shin Ever"
by the North Carolina University Hospital medical staff. Hansbrough
will accept their award in a ceremony tomorrow.

Sometimes the media overkill and slobbering can make it hard to appreciate many of the top talents/teams in the game. I guess that's the price we pay for 24 hour coverage on 17 cable channels, 44 internet sites, etc...

a lot of attitude going on there, what is up with that.?the big east is a tougher conference, look at the rankings, who are the top 2, and 3? and as far as thabeet, he will challenge anyone. he was the leading shot blocker in the country. and if tyler was so good, why did he not make it the the final last year/ no one is questioning that he is capable but to hand it to him on a silver platter, no way. he would foul out before the game was over against some of the teams like uconn, louisville, ucla, notre dame, duke, and perhaps texas. he simply does not jump well or play good enough defense. any big center, and thabeet is bigger and stronger than is hanbrough, and was the also the leading defensive player in the country, would take away his game. by way, you should learn how to speak correctly (take it this years?)
