The wrong guy played through the pain

Georgia Tech point guard Matt Causey suffered a concussion last night after his head bounced off the floor on this play (and I won't mention that sometimes, this is what happens to floppers). The amazing--and probably dumb--thing is that Causey came back in the game after the concussion. You can see him struggling here.

I'm not a doctor (though I was very good at Operation), but isn't that a tremendous risk to take? The kid is spirited, gutty, has a lot of heart, sure. But you can't mess around with concussions. Even if it was minor, and even if he felt fine, that still seems unnecessarily risky. I'd like to hear a little further explanation from the Georgia Tech doctors, coaches, and trainers.

And then the Duke mascot nearly crippled himself on a one-foot jump to the floor and this guy can't get back in the game? ESPN said it was a sprained knee, and come on, Blue Devil, suck it up. Tape thing thing up, take off your skirt, and get back out there. Pink Devil.

This guy knew the camera was on him, bumped his head a little bit, and the just hammed it up the rest of the night. This guys a d-bag. I mean really.. the eyes rolling back on the foul line??? not quite worthy of an oscar but acting none the less..

I agree, ESPN also showed footage of Causey doing the same eye thing in a game earlier this season that was not televised and therefore not argued about like we're doing now. I'm sure the doctors took the proper precautions and decided he was fit to come back in the game. The eyes thing was just an act or something he does every now and then....as for the Blue Devil sucking it up and returning, I'd love to see MJD get up and run around after suffering a kneww injury. There is a reason torn ACL's can also be referred to as "one on none" meaning the knee can just go whenever it wants. So the next time you criticize someone for not coming back to the game, make sure you have suffered that injury yourself hypocrite.
