I actually thought this game was going to be a little closer than it was. I did not think that MSU gave the best opponent for UNC. I felt UCONN would have given UNC a much better game because of their depth, and they can match up better. Watching UNC play in the tournament was a sight to see for any college basketball fan because they worked so well as a team and they had players that could score in double figures night after night. Big shot after big shot, no team really got close except Gonzaga in the early going. UNC just had too much fire power for any team in the NCAA this year. I am glad to see the title come back to the ACC because i am a die hard UVA fan and it is because of performances like this that allow the ACC to get great recruits like Landesberg, Teague, Lawson, Davis, McClinton, and the other guard from Fla St......i know there are more, however those are the ones that stand out in my mind. Do i think UNC will be back in the final four next year.....well with Ginyard healthy, Davis back and i know UNC has already signed a top prospect guard, so it is def a possibility, they will just have to work harder for it. I do not think Lawson will be back, however Ellington might be.

It's interesting that after all the bashing and bluster, the title is where it belongs - in the ACC - for the 4th time this decade (at 3 different schools). And this 'dominant' UNC team lost this season to 4 different ACC teams, yet noone else could come close to them. Where was the Big Least tonight ? The wishful stories of the demise of the ACC were, to paraphrase a famous line, greatly exaggerated.

Poor po - he doesn't have a clue. For you, po, you can have the David Stern led fixed NBA and refs while the rest of the WORLD enjoys the honest version of the game of basketball. I pity you, po.

MSU did not bring its A game and even if they did they probably would have lost. UNC coasted to the title, if they had really pushed hard in the second half it would have been a 40 point blow out. I think UNC will have an off year like after the last title but look for them to cut down the nets again 2-3 years from now. WOOOO GO HEELS!!! Psycho T got his.

I usually refer to the NBA as basketball methadone. I really don't want to but I watch it's playoffs after the NCAA's just to bring me back down slowly so I can survive waiting for my high school and college "fix" to start again in the late Fall. Once you get to the NBA conference finals you get over the exhibition part of that league and actually see some teams that play "some" defense other than the obvious hack/mug its announcing shills refer to as "defense".
I know he was not the MVP but I don't think Carolina wins this national title if Lawson's big toe didn't get better. Maybe the comparison is not made (or at least I have not heard it) because younger people don't remember but does anyone see a little of Texas El Paso/ Golden State el. al.'s Tim Hardaway in Lawson? His cross-over, penetration, dish, shooting and size certainly reminds me of Hardaway. In his time he was one of the best and I think the same can be expected of Lawson at the methadone level...

I figured Msu would have played alot better considering the way they played Uconn and Lousiville. But I guess they still had that december game lingering in their head and just let themselves outta the game. Oh well Unc brought back hardware for the fans, and we are happy to have em!! Go job guys, and hopefully we get lawson and ellington back, if we do, we could be looking at a hardware next year.

It's hard to believe that Michigan St could NOT correct their mistakes. They got
blown out 98-83 in December at home. Why couldn't Coach Izzo do his homework?
I think the game was very embarassing. UNC 89-72 over Michigan State.
I am telling you now the great Magic Johnson is crying in his beer.

You're saying that Tom Izzo doesn't do his homework? His preparation is what got MSU past Kansas, Louisville and UConn. But you can prepare all you want, but you still have to execute your game. The MSU players shied away from their game to try to keep up with UNC's, and the result was 21 turnovers and a butt whooping. They were completely rattled.

I couldn't get into the game because the Heels jumped out ahead so far. Tyler is validated for staying but I don't think he will get any time in the NBA. something about his game has journeymen reserve written all over it. And when he bricked that 3 pointer at the end of the half, I think that sealed it. No range on your jumper doesn't work in the NBA unless you are a beast on the boards. I don't thnk he is strong enough to be a starter. He may be the next Mark Madsen or Luke Walton. But he won't be Dirk Nowitzky or Troy Murphy. Congrats Tar Heels for a strong showing.

UNC is National Champs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Not Uconn, luoiseville, pitt, nova, the 'cuse or any of the other 48 or 49 little east chumps. Go ahead and revel in you claims of best conference ever!!! Our guys will be releshing a National Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kudos to Izzo and the Spartans, they made a fantastic run and should be recognized for that( not too bad I'd say for a team from one of the lowly conferences!)

Great pictures... thanks for posting them.... man I miss magic/birdman... really! MSU had a great run... as they look back I am sure they will be very proud of what they did... and UNC the same... they palyed super all through the tournament... nice march maddness this year... i repeat myself the the live stream was great too... i live abroad and miss watching march maddness so very much...but this year I could see the whole nine yards... or 94feet. Using several laptops... i didn't miss anything... first round started at 5pm and finished 5:30 am my time... europe was for the most part only five hours behind east coast time... by not changing daylight saving when usa did.
Thanks to all that made the live stream possible... march maddness for me is the greatest sporting event in the world.... much better than the super bowl... world cup football (soccer), master's ...I love it... I have just starting reading the dagger... enjoy it too... don't agree sometimes... enjoy reading most comments... but their are some crazy fans out there.... but that okay I think... we I could see uconn women go for the gold tonight... gametracker will have to do.... ciao to all... daggerman... see you next year!

Damn a buch of ole' colored boys from the South with a few white rednecks showed the "big?" east what ACC basketball was all about. Hats off the UNC for the win and hats off to MSU and their fans for a fine effort against a great team. The Spartans won and lost with grace and dignity and I hope the State of Michigan will honor their "warriors" as North carolina will their's.

Looks like you caught Tyler in the middle of his retarted duck dance again. Thank God i didn't stick around for that. Unc might have the championship and a great team, but they still have the gayest and most retarded fans ever!!! Enjoy that title cuz next season yall will be in the ACC cellar. Tyler is gone, Green is gone, Lawson is gone (don't even get it in ya mind unc fans thats he's coming back cuz he aint), Ellington gone, Davis and Thompson? Davis prob would be a lottery so i will say hes gone too.
Good luck with the Wear bro's, Zeller, Ginyard, Drew 2, and that henson guy!!!
