The Dagger - NCAAB

This commercial just aired, and already I've had two friends email me about it (not to mention the obligatory cascade of tweets just before Fail Whale came out for the night):

I'm not a huge fan of Gatorade, but it's hard to deny the goosebumpery at work here. Well done, Omnicon Group. If you can land John Wooden for a sports drink spot, you do it, and you use him to his full potential. Wins all around.

digg delicious

Are you kidding it was in poor taste when Jud Heathcote and Dean Smith should have been in it. Wooden is from an old era of poor ball played primarily by "folks" who make up less than 10% of teams today. Goosebumpery? Most "ballers" aint never heard of the geezer. Yo wanna be let a brother right this stuff up.

"chicago player" -- You calling Lew Alcindor a "folk"? Because if you are, you fail, and if you aren't, you're being ignorant. Wooden's teams had people of all colors. Learn your history before you play the race/hate card.

You dissenters know nothing of Wooden's greatness and it shows through your ignorance you posted. Wooden was the greatest and smartest coach w/o any doubt what-so-ever!

Well "Chicago Player" , it's people like you that will never progress us along as a race. If you were a true "baller" then you would know who John Wooden is. Does it matter if he coached in an era of mostly white players. You're a loser, and I wish to God that one day there won't be black people that only appreciates things blacks do, or whites that only appreciate what whites do and that we all can appreciate greatness no matter the color or the "era". Because it's people from "eras" that transcended the game to what we know today.
