Watch the above video. The dunker is Jarrett Johnson of Anderson
University in South Carolina. The dunkee is a hapless fellow without a
name (Update: Thanks to a commenter, the player appears to be No. 30, Mason Ambler)
that plays for Coker College. That's really all I can tell you about
the two players involved here, except what I know from the video I was
just sent by like three people, and that's this: Mr. Nameless Ambler made the
horrible too-common mistake of attempting to take a charge against a
really, really athletic player. He paid the price. And then when the
dunk is over, he doesn't hop back up -- he lays there, taking in what
just happened to him, enduring the taunts of Anderson teammates as they
jump and celebrate and yell in his face. (I think one actually takes a
victory lap.)
It's the sort of thing that can happen to anyone that plays basketball at any time. All you can do is be thankful it's not you, or your favorite team, and that if it was, it didn't go on the Internet. Embarassment this potent doesn't ever leave the YouTubes.
