I apologize for the recent deluge of Kentucky posts. Actually, no. I
don't. Because to do so would be to potentially anger Kentucky fans,
and please don't hurt me I'll do whatever you say. Just leave me out of this. Take my family.
What am I talking about? The other day, Fox Sports college basketball writer Jeff Goodman wrote a perfectly reasonable blog post about Kentucky recruit Daniel Orton, and how he wasn't surprised Orton, a top center, chose Kentucky over a few other schools. It seems Orton's father was given money to speak at a UK summer camp and may or may not be the recipient of a job offer on Billy Gillispie's staff. This isn't against the rules. It's just kinda shady.
You can imagine how pleased UK fans were with that:
Goodman you are a ####!!!!!
Give me a break! Orton's father got paid what in all? $1500 - $3000?? And that was enough to get him to sign his kid over to Billy G? Pretty good deal for UK!
You are a poor man's Gregg Doyle. [Ed: Ouch.]
Fact, Goodman does go around to AAU games and summer/spring tournaments and bad mouths Gillispie, to push his pro UNC agenda. I would think it would be cheating for a writer of a National Recognized Media Sports Outlet to go out and push his personal fanhood (UNC) agenda to recruites. Might not be illegal but it still isn't right.
I must admit that I have never read an article written by Jeff Goodman and I must say that I now consider that a blessing.
Goodman-you suck!!!you have always sucked and you have always had this dislike for the Blue. Don't worry EVERYONE in Kentucky hates you too!!! Seriously dude, go find a new job...
It goes on like that for, I don't know, 500 more comments? Seriously, people, let it lie. The dude wrote something you didn't like. It doesn't paint your program in a particularly positive light, but most college basketball fans know the score -- this sort of thing happens everywhere. We get it. Take it easy.
Or don't. Do whatever you'd like, sirs. While we're at it, can I complement you on that sweatshirt? It's very blue. Perhaps the bluest I've ever seen. Just please don't hurt me.
