The Dagger - NCAAB

Happy Monday, Dagger readers. Mondays are usually no fun. But this Monday sort of rules, I think. Check out this video and tell me if you agree:

You know what makes Mondays awesome sometimes? When video of Kentucky superrecruit John Wall dunking on NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse -- who, though he's lost is a step in recent years, is no athletic slouch -- hits my inbox. That's a good Monday.

That video was shot at the Greater North Carolina Pro-Am, one of the many summer leagues that mingle college and NBA stars for offseason workouts. This is where I want to urge Jerry Stackhouse to never go back, but you know what? It happens. LeBron James got dunked on by a far less talented player than John Wall. At least Stackhouse's people didn't pull a Politburo on the footage. Stackhouse handled it appropriately, inbounding the ball and hustling back down the court.

And anyway, he shouldn't feel too bad. John Wall is going to do that to a lot of people in the next few years. At least Stackhouse can say he was first.

Yo Brennan, It's about time someone posts a REAL "throw it down your throat" dunk. For all your LEBRON haters and Jordan Crawford, THATS A REAL DUNK ON 'EM

I hate how it's always the help-side defender that gets dunked on. The real issue is that number 1 got destroyed on the cross-over and Stack couldn't get into position in time. The help-side defender did everything he could, if he got there earlier his man would be getting a pass for the even easier dunk.

Nice dunk, but Im Not impressed! Stackhouse is OLD and can't jump or defend.
If this were 1997-1998 THEN I would be impressed.

Damn that was good but he's not in the same league as LeBron so the LeBron still has the title of the ugliest dunk by a nobody award

idk why people are making such a big deal about this and the lebron one, if you're playing defense you're bound to get posterized

To be honest I don't find it that crazy that he dunked on Stackhouse. I believe this guy is going to be a future nba all-star and stackhouse was just another victim. I promise you will be seeing alot more of your favorite nba stars on the wrong side of a john wall poster.

The suprising thing is that stackhouse can still get up that high, and another thing sure the dunk is pretty nasty but flymonk321 is right stackhouse had to slide into position for the help-d still a nasty dunk but its not as big of an OOOooo as some people make it sound

that's just normal now...anyone who is an able-bodied player can dunk...even nate robinson who is about 5'7" can dunk...what more if you're 6'5"...you can easily do it...and anyone given the chance will do it...it does not matter who the defender is...besides stackhouse is old in nba parlance...he cannot jump that high anymore...

Big deal, Stackhouse was coming from a weakside help position when Wall was already almost airborne. There's not much he could have done at that point to stop Wall other than hammering him to the ground. The guy who really got posterized was the primary defender who had his ankles broken by Wall's crossover.
