The Dagger - NCAAB

It was Senior Night for Dave Neal at Maryland. The fan favorite was having the game of his life in a critical late-season battle for the Terps, draining four straight three-pointers and helping Maryland to a six-point lead over No. 10 Wake Forest with five minutes to play. But after a 7-0 Wake run, the Deacs had the lead and the ball. And Jeff Teague was about to go nuts on Dave Neal:

Wow.

Watching the reaction of the crowd and players is worth a replay. The Wake bench goes ballistic, Neal looks like he just went ten rounds with 1986 Mike Tyson and the crowd gets real loud on the broadcast immediately after Teague throws it down, but it's actually just the smattering of Wake fans in the stands (including me) going crazy. I'd guess there were probably only 300 making all that noise. But it sounded loud after the 18,000 or so Maryland fans became immediately silent.

And while watching that play somewhere in Durham, Greg Paulus nodded solemnly, as visions of Deron Washington danced in his head.

Chris, you're an idiot. If you're going to post a completely irrelevant anti-Duke video of Paulus getting dunked on, Green over Paulus in last year's game at Carolina is clearly superior in every way to those two clips.
Oh yeah, and you're an idiot.

Chris, another great post! That dunk by Teague was one of the best dunks of the year. That is the mark of a great player...take someone who is having the game of his life on Senior Night and show him your shweaty balls!!!

How bout that phantom call on Hayes or Vasquez at the most crucial part of the game. Wake always gets all the calls. That will stop soon.

Its only fitting Maryland gets left out of the dance. The size they have on the floor is not worthy of anything else. I don't care how hard they play. They don't win games. Just go home and leave me alone with this garbage already.

Hey people, the impossible just happened! Check out Chris' 2nd blog about the 47 NCAA Basketball teams that won't be dancing this March. See if you can spot it. If it doesn't jump right out at you (it should!) post #6 for that blog identifies what could possibly mean Armageddon is truly upon us.

That phantom call was horrible. Jamie Luckie is one of the worst officials in the nation! How do you call something like that late in the game when no one even TOUCHED Teague?

Don't fault Jamie Luckie for the phantom call. Remember, Duke sometimes wears black uniforms. Mr. Luckie just got confused and thought Jeff Teague was a Duke player. Thus he HAD to make that call.

I was actually going to commend you only finally writing a post without an anti-Duke reference but then I got to the last couple of sentences. I'm not going to hate on you though for continually bashing Duke because I understand sports blogging is a tough business when it comes to competing for an audience to read your "highly valued" opinions, so every mediocore hack, such as yourself, needs some kind of hook to stay relevant in the over saturated sports blogging market. The one good thing for you is that since Duke has been a top flight program for the past 20+ years and probably will continue to be so for the foreseeable future you will have plenty to write and complain about over the next couple of years as you struggle to stay relevant and keep your sports blogging career afloat. Keep hating on those that are better and keep up the good work.

    Holy SHIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!
You absolutely CANNOT go a SECOND of your miserable life without Duke-bashing. I'm not even a Duke fan, so I don't give a flying f--k if they win or lose, but your non-stop hatred has ruined any journalistic abilities you may have possessed.
Just enjoy your team's win your freaking loser! Stop worrying about whether or not programs with a legacy that dwarfs your school's saw one highlight. God...you SUCK.

Or maybe, Greg Paulus was watching reminiscing Duke's dominance over these two teams.
By the way, Paulus is a two-time Academic All-American, and a hard-working guard, so get off his case.

"Tyler Hansbrough travels every time he touches the ball. Also, have you ever noticed that he resembles Beaker due to his similarly bulging eyes? Also, he's probably gay or something! Not really, but I'm a white guy who hates other white guys who are able to play basketball because they are easily identifiable and I pain over the fact that he isn't me!"
