Get in a fight with your school's football team. Bad idea jeans.
But that's exactly what Kansas sophomore guard Tyshawn Taylor decided to do Tuesday night. It did not go well. According to the Lawrence Journal-World and News, Taylor suffered a dislocated left thumb in the skirmish and is likely to miss three or four weeks. Not exactly a devastating amount of time, but I can't imagine Bill Self will be thoroughly thrilled with the result all the same.
Few details are known about the fight, but it appears to involve the entrance and exit of a dorm. Insults were traded, shouting began, and the next thing you know, Tyshawn Taylor was apparently trying to fight the biggest people he could find on a campus of 30,000-plus.
Note to Tyshawn: Have you ever seen college football players? Even the ones at bad football schools? Not that Kansas is a bad football school now -- Double-M has alleviated that with the thickness -- but back in the really bad KU football days, Division 1A college football players are still monsters. They are not normal-sized people. They are not to be trifled with in any way, shape or form.
Frankly, it's sort of lucky Tyshawn merely escaped with an injured digit. I've seen collegiate football players fight before. It could have been far, far worse.
