Extra Onions is a roundup of college hoops stuff from around the 'Webs. As always, email or follow me on Twitter to send along links I should see.

Want to know how things are going in Ann Arbor? I assume they're going well, because Ann Arbor is beautiful in the summertime. But, um, about basketball? John Beilein can fill you in. [It's Just Sports]

The Dagger is no fan of the new charge rule, but there is more than knee-jerk outrage to feel here. Rivals, being the actual, legitimate journalists they are (and not just a keyboard monkey like myself) asked players how they felt about the changes. Fancy that. ['New charge rule gets mixed reaction' -- Rivals.com]

Where will Lance Stephenson end up? Maybe nowhere! If that happens, Rob Dauster at Ballin' Is A Habit (GET LIKE ME) has some positive spin. Perhaps, if Stephenson flames out, he can serve as a cautionary tale to future recruits that the world won't always move for their talent. ['Where will Lance Stephenson end up?' -- Ballin' Is A Habit]

Want to have a successful basketball program? Or, failing that, a rich one? It's probably best to start with a really rich football program. That always helps. In related news, Florida's athletic budget will be $89 million in 2009-10. ['Florida’s 2009-10 athletic budget tops $89 million' -- AP]

I don't remember former USC player Stais Boseman, but the people he (allegedly!) carjacked surely will. ['Ex-USC basketball player arrested in carjacking' -- AP]

Butler fans rejoice: Forward Gordon Hayward, who, until last year, had a better chance of playing collegiate baseball (which immediately reminds me of Infinite Jest; page 39, baby!) backed up his 13-points, five-rebounds freshman season very well at the Team USA U-19 trials in Colorado last week. The always readable Luke Winn brings the details. [Butler's Hayward creates buzz at 19-and-under national team trials -- SI.com]

Last, but not least, yesterday's AP report on the influx of Africans into college basketball. Must-read status, kids. ['Hope for a continent, one basket at a time' -- AP]
