You know what I think was going through Bruce Pearl's head as soon as he decided
to grab Erin Andrews and demonstrate the defensive techniques Memphis used
against Chris Lofton?
"Man, I really wish that Memphis has decided to defend Chris Lofton by
vigorously dry humping him until they suffered severe friction burns on their
junk."
That's what I think. I could be wrong.
But yeah, the unauthorized touch of Eric Andrews just caps a great night for
Bruce Pearl. He coached circles around John Calipari. His Vols won because they
decided to pack the lane on defense and continually dare Memphis to take quick,
bad shots. Memphis can run a halfcourt offense, they just didn't last
night.
The Vols forced Memphis to be patient and poised, and they couldn't do it. Most
of the points Memphis got came off of insane natural ability from Derrick Rose
or Chris Douglas-Roberts. Rarely did anything come from a well-executed
offensive play.
More about this on Monday, I'm sure.
