Wrapping up our ACC conference preview here at the Dagger, we close with the ten games we'd most want to attend this season. Be sure to check out Rivals.com's comprehensive ACC preview and come back tomorrow when MJD will tackle the Big East.
UNC at Michigan State (at Ford Field); Wednesday, December 3
The sight-lines have to be terrible, but we always thought it would be pretty cool to watch a basketball game in a football stadium.
Davidson at Duke; Wednesday, January 7
Stephen Curry and his mighty Wildcats, who came within a jumpshot of derailing Kansas last March and advancing to the Final Four, drive up the road to visit Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils open up their conference schedule the previous Sunday, making this an oddly-timed out of conference contest for Coach K's bunch.
Virginia at Virginia Tech; Saturday, January 10
Rivalry games are always entertaining, A.D. Vassallo is a pleasure to watch and something tells me that UVA isn't going to be as bad as everyone thinks.
Florida State at North Carolina State; Wednesday, January 14
As long as I'm living a fantasy I might as well see every team. And, in a similar vein, I'll be buying two tickets: one more for and one for Beyonce.
Wake Forest at Georgia Tech; Saturday, January 31
Preseason ACC Rookie of the Year Al-Farouq Aminu heads back to Georgia to face the Yellow Jacket team he spurned for Wake Forest. The fans likely won't be kind to Aminu; the verdict is still out on his brother Alade, a senior forward at Georgia Tech.
Maryland at North Carolina; Saturday, February 3
Last year the Terps went down to Chapel Hill and stunned the #1 Heels 82-80. Gary Williams' teams always seem to pull one shocker per season, but don't expect Tyler Hansbrough and company to overlook Maryland again time around.
North Carolina at Duke; Wednesday, February 11
It's the second best rivalry in all of sports. (Army-Navy is the greatest, in case you were wondering. There are two places every true sports fan should go: Cameron Indoor and an Army-Navy football game.)
Boston College at Miami; Saturday, February 21
I have no interest in the game, mind you, but attending would mean I'd be in Miami on a weekend in February and there ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Duke at North Carolina; Sunday, March 8
The Dean Dome is to Cameron Indoor as FedEx Field is to RFK Stadium. But on this senior night (or afternoon) for Hansbrough, Danny Green, Marcus Ginyard and Bobby Frasor with the Dukies in town, the atmosphere will be electric.
Clemson at Wake Forest; Sunday, March 8
The final game of the ACC regular season could be a battle for an opening-round ACC Tournament bye.
