The Dagger - NCAAB

Cleveland State might want to start playing more games in the Carrier Dome. In its first appearance at Syracuse since upsetting No. 3 seed Indiana en route to a Sweet 16 berth in the 1986 NCAA tournament, the Vikings returned Monday night and stunned No. 11 Syracuse on a 60-foot heave at the buzzer. It broke a 69-69 tie and gave Syracuse its first loss of the season, 72-69.

The shot was from Cedric Jackson and it's likely to be the best, biggest, buzzer-beater you'll see all season.

Don't think that the Cleveland State win was too much of an upset, though. The Vikes have played well against good teams this season, while Syracuse has struggled with teams it should outclass.

Some might say this is karmic payback for Jim Boeheim's decision to keep playing Eric Devendorf in light of his troubles. Or it could just be a really awesome shot.

FYI it took you overtime to beat a terrible kansas team (by their standards). Syracuse is a pretender.

So typical of something Syracuse would do. Except for Melo's sweet year, they are the most frustrating team in sports to watch.

FYI, Kansas is one of the top 25 teams in NCAAB, and it was basically a home game for Kansas because they played that tourney in Kansas City.

Its not like CSU had to come back to win this one either, Cuse had to come back just to tie it before that heave shot. CSU outplayed them and deserved this win. Hopefully they can take the Horizon crown this year and make the tourney

One of the best last second shots ever was James Forrest hitting that 40-footer to beat USC in the NCAA tournament. Poster #10 Brandon P. you loved that one too didn't you.

nice shot... cleveland state has been playing well all year..even tho they have 4 losses they lost to 3 really good teams and 1 pretty decent 1 in games that really werent blowouts. I'm sure syracuse will bounce back though.... byt why are we even talking??? As much as i despise UNC (go 'Noles!!!), they're still crazy good and until they lose or get in a couple close games I really dont see them not winning the title

Poetic Justice. This is what Boeheim gets for continuing to play that punk, women-beating, loud-mouthed, wanna-be-gangsta Devendorf. On top of all that, Devendorf is the ugliest guy in the Big East.
Not sure how any Syracuse fan can feel good about their team while this piece of dirt continues to play.
Boeheim should be ashamed of himself.

Cuse all the way!!! MEMPHIS goes down next & there is unwanted pressure for a team to reach the BIg Dance undefeated anyway. Lucky BS!!

Cleveland the best city in America? are you kidding me? cleveland is the butthole of America. North Carolina and Oklahoma are looking like the two best teams in College basketball right now. Griffin from Oklahoma is going to go the first round first pick in the draft next year.
