Remember when Bruce Pearl executed an
unauthorized grab of Erin Andrews at halftime of the Memphis/Tennessee game (the video's been removed at that link, but you can see it
right here)?
Ever the gentleman, Pearl sent her a text message afterwards to apologize:
From an interview Coach Pearl did with Dan Patrick recently (via
Sports by Brooks):
Dan Patrick: You can’t be putting your hands on Erin Andrews at halftime, coach.Wait, Erin Andrews isn't a high school basketball player. I wonder what Dan Patrick meant when he said -- oh, wait, I get it. It's a joke with sexual undertones. He's not saying she's a prospect for a scholarship, he's saying she's a prospect for a good rogering.
Bruce Pearl: Erin is a terrific sideline reporter, she knows the game, but she’s also very engaging. I actually called her and texted her back, and I apologized if in any way that was unprofessional.
Patrick: Is texting her an NCAA violation?
Pearl: No, she’s not a prospect.
Patrick: Oh, yes she is.
