Texas tops rankings, familiar foes re-enter

Texas had its amazing 21-game winning streak ended at Kansas State this past weekend, but remains the top team in the Rivals.com Top 25 once again this week after taking two of three on the road from the Wildcats.
The next three spots in the rankings stayed the same with Virginia, Arizona State and Florida coming in at No’s 2,3 and 4, respectively. Florida State, meanwhile, climbed into the top five after taking a road series from Boston College.
Elsewhere in the top ten, Arkansas moved from No. 9 to No. 6 following a road series win over Mississippi, and South Carolina dropped from No. 5 to No. 9 following a road series loss to Kentucky.
Virginia Tech moved into the top 15 following another successful weekend. Connecticut, meanwhile, entered the top 20 after taking a home series over Cincinnati.
Also worth noting, Oregon fell from No. 15 to No. 20 following a winless week against Portland and Oregon State. Rice and San Diego also gained some ground, coming in at No’s 21 and 22, respectively, this week.
LSU and Arizona fell out of the rankings following bad weekend performances. Vanderbilt and Stanford, which aren’t strangers to the rankings, reentered at No’s 23 and 24, respectively.

The Cavaliers had the weekend off for final exams, but did take care of business in a single midweek contest against Virginia Commonwealth.

The Sun Devils had the weekend off for final exams, but crushed rival Arizona in a single midweek contest that was a revenge game.

The Gators continued their winning ways over the weekend with an important road series win over a decent Alabama club.

The Seminoles took care of business in the midweek against Jacksonville and hit the road to take two of three from Boston College over the weekend.

The Razorbacks responded from two-straight SEC series loss with a huge road series win over previously red-hot Mississippi.

The Horned Frogs split a pair of games against New Mexico to start a three-game series, but made a huge statement with a 26-4 win in the series finale.

The Cardinals swept a pair of midweek games from Ohio State before hitting the road and taking two of three from Georgetown.

The Gamecocks defeated Winthrop in midweek action before hitting the road and stumbling against Kentucky in a weekend series.

The Bruins responded in a big way last week with a midweek win and a weekend series sweep over previously surging Washington.

The Chanticleers continued their winning ways over the weekend by taking the first two games of their series against conference foe Winthrop.

The Titans have played a fantastic brand of baseball the past few weeks. They did a clean home sweep of UC Riverside over the weekend.

The Hurricanes went out of conference over the weekend and took a pair of games from Non-Division I foe Barry University.

The Rebels have played fantastic baseball the past few weeks, but slipped up at home against Arkansas over the weekend.

The Hokies dropped a bad midweek game to Davidson to start the week, but rebounded over the weekend with a pair of wins over Savannah State.

The Yellow Jackets had little trouble taking care of business over the weekend with a series sweep over Illinois-Chicago.

The Sooners took a midweek contest from Arkansas-Little Rock before taking two of three from rival Oklahoma State over the weekend.

The Tigers continued their winning ways over the weekend with a home series sweep over struggling Mississippi State.

The Huskies had a successful week that ended with a nice weekend series win over Big East foe Cincinnati.

The Ducks certainly had a week to forget. The week included a midweek loss to Portland and an 0-3 record against rival Oregon State over the weekend.

The Owls had a fantastic week that included midweek wins over Texas State and Texas Southern before taking two of three on the road from Marshall.

The Toreros had a very solid week that included a midweek win over UC Riverside and a weekend series sweep over rising WCC foe Portland.

The Commodores went on the road over the weekend and took two of three from an LSU team all of a sudden looking for an identity.

The Cardinal won midweek games over Santa Clara and San Jose State before taking two of three on the road from Long Beach State.

The Golden Bears won a midweek game over Sacramento State before hitting the road and dropping the first two games of the weekend to Washington State.
