Texas extends streak, leads rankings

Texas left little doubt this past week.
The Longhorns ascended to the top spot in the Rivals.com Top 25 last week. They remain at No. 1 following a perfect week in which they extended their winning streak to 20 games, capped by a home series sweep over rival Baylor.
Virginia, Arizona State, Florida and South Carolina round out the top five.
The Cavaliers swept Duke on the road over the weekend, Arizona State went on the road and swept UCLA, Florida swept LSU at home and South Carolina took two of three from Alabama at home.
Louisville and TCU entered the top 10 this week at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. Arkansas dropped from No. 6 to No. 9 after a 2-2 week, and UCLA fell from No. 4 to No. 10 following its poor showing against Arizona State.
Virginia Tech had another great weekend and climbed from No. 20 to No. 16, while Georgia Tech and LSU both took huge hits following bad weekends. Tech dropped from No. 9 to No. 17, and LSU fell from No. 10 to No. 18.
Stanford, which lost all three games to Washington, was the only team to drop out of the rankings. Auburn, meanwhile, entered the rankings at No. 20 after taking two of three at Arkansas.

The Seminoles had one hiccup against Le Moyne over the weekend, but they still won the series.

The Cardinals had a fantastic week with a midweek win over in-state rival Kentucky and a weekend series sweep of Big East rival Rutgers.

The Horned Frogs split a pair of midweek games against Baylor before hitting the road and sweeping Utah.

After taking care of Missouri State in midweek action, the Razorbacks stayed home and dropped two of three to Auburn in conference play.

The Bruins started the week on the right foot with a midweek win over UC Irvine. However, all was lost with a poor showing against red-hot Arizona State.

The Chanticleers started the week with a tough midweek loss to Virginia, but they responded over the weekend with a series sweep of UNC Asheville.

The Titans had a fantastic week with a midweek win over San Diego and a Big West road series triumph over Pacific.

The Rebels had another solid week. After winning a pair of midweek games, the Rebels went on the road and swept rival Mississippi State.

After winning a pair of midweek games, the Hurricanes stayed home and took care of business against a weak Maryland club.

The Ducks had a fantastic week with a midweek win over rival Oregon State and a weekend series win over Washington State.

The Hokies’ magical campaign continued with a midweek win and a home series sweep over Boston College. VT will be in the NCAA postseason.

The Yellow Jackets need to find a way to establish some consistency. The Jackets had another bad weekend in conference play with a road series loss to N.C. State.

The Tigers are in a huge rut right now. They lost all three games at Florida over the weekend to extend their losing streak to seven games.

The Sooners started the week with a midweek win over Dallas Baptist before taking two of three against Kansas State at home.

The Tigers had a week to remember with a midweek win and a weekend series win over Arkansas.

The Huskies dropped a tough midweek contest to Central Connecticut State before splitting a pair of games against Pittsburgh over the weekend.

The Golden Bears dropped a tough midweek game to UC Davis, but they responded over the weekend with a series sweep over Oregon State.

The Owls took the week off for final exams. They will be back in action next weekend against Marshall.

After dropping a tough midweek game to Cal State Fullerton, the Toreros responded over the weekend with a series sweep of San Francisco.

The Wildcats hit the road this past weekend and dropped two of three to struggling USC. The Wildcats need to do a better job on the road.
