Virginia isn’t having trouble with a huge target on its back.
The Cavaliers had a minor hiccup against Wright State in one game last weekend, but still had a fantastic weekend with a 3-1 record. Virginia still has one of the most impressive series wins so far this season and once again tops the Rivals.com Top 25.
LSU and Florida State had good weekends and remained at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. The next five spots in the rankings remained the same and includes Florida, Texas, Arizona State, Georgia Tech and Louisville.
East Carolina entered the top 10 for the first time this season after having another solid weekend. The Pirates moved from No. 11 to No. 10 and replaced UC Irvine, which dropped from No. 9 to No. 15 following another rather unimpressive week.
TCU moved from No. 16 to No. 12 following another solid week and UCLA and Kentucky entered the top 20 at No’s 16 and 19, respectively.
Cal State Fullerton, which previously was No. 18, dropped out of the rankings after a third-straight bad weekend. Kansas also fell out of the rankings after suffering a pair of losses last week.

The Tigers are 11-0 against an incredibly weak schedule. We’ll see what they’re truly made of against Kansas and Arkansas the next two weekends.
The Seminoles made a huge statement this past week with a win over Florida and a dominating series sweep over Georgia.
The Gators began the week with a tough mid-week loss to rival Florida State, but responded with a road series win over Miami. Very impressive.
The Longhorns had some tense moments over the weekend, but still finished the Houston College Classic with wins over Rice and Missouri.
Even after playing some very good competition over the weekend, the Sun Devils still have a perfect record. It’s now the Tim Esmay show.
To absolutely no surprise, the red-hot Yellow Jackets had no trouble with visiting Rutgers over the weekend.
The Cardinals are one of the nation’s most balanced teams. They also had another perfect weekend with a series win over LeMoyne.
The Owls couldn’t have asked for a much better week that ended with a 4-1 record and wins over Houston, TCU and Texas Tech.
The Pirates didn’t have a lag after the big South Carolina series win last weekend. They took care of business with a 3-0 record.
The Tigers had a fantastic week on the diamond with a win over Dayton and a thrilling series win over heated rival South Carolina.
The Horned Frogs put together another solid week that included wins over Texas Tech, Missouri and UTSA.
The Chanticleers had another fantastic week that included wins over Pittsburgh, Ball State and Toledo.
It was an impressive week for the Hogs. They demolished Kansas in mid-week action before taking two of three on the road from California.
The Anteaters aren’t exactly playing well. They began the week with a loss to Pepperdine before struggling to win two of three at St. Mary’s.
The Bruins couldn’t be off to a better start. They remained perfect with an impressive home series sweep over Nebraska.
The Beavers had another good weekend that included a pair of wins. The only loss of the week was to Arizona State.
Mike Fox’s Tar Heels are quietly putting together a solid record this season. They swept Big Ten foe Michigan over the weekend.
The Wildcats had another good week that included a good road win over San Diego. San Diego State was their only loss of the weekend.
The Gamecocks left something to be desired in a tough series loss to rival Clemson over the weekend.
The Buckeyes had another solid week against a crop of weak competition. They’re doing what was expected of them so far this season.
The Rebels passed their first weekend test of the year with a solid road series win over Rick Jones’ Tulane club.
The Hurricanes began the week with a mid-week victory over South Florida, but stumbled at home in a hard-fought series against Florida.
The Commodores had another solid week to remember with a perfect 4-0 record. The ‘Dores continue to impress so far this season.
It only took the Cardinal a week to get back in the rankings. The Cardinal rebounded nicely from the tough showing at Texas two weeks ago.
