Arizona StateTempe, Ariz.47-8Won Pac-102009 (College World Series)
The Sun Devils are a good bet to earn the top national seed. They won their fourth straight Pac-10 title and compiled a fantastic record in coach Tim Esmay's first season as coach.
ArkansasFayettevile, Ark.40-18At-large2009 (College World Series)
Sure, the Razorbacks didn't exactly show well at the SEC tournament. But this is a team that played a solid schedule and compiled a very solid record and postseason resume. Arkansas will be a major postseason force if Drew Smyly, Zack Cox and Brett Eibner can stay healthy.
AuburnAuburn, Ala.40-19At-large2005 (Tallahassee Regional)
The Tigers have been one of the greatest stories this season. John Pawlowski's club has a gaudy batting average and will be an extremely tough team to beat in the NCAA tournament. Auburn will host an NCAA regional and recently reached the SEC tournament for the first time since 2003.
Cal State FullertonFullerton, Calif.40-15Won Big West2009 (College World Series)
The Titans certainly started the season on the wrong foot, but they have been one of the nation's hottest teams down the stretch and are in position to compete for a national seed. The Titans are fantastic and could be even more dangerous if two-way star Tyler Pill and outfielder Gary Brown can stay healthy.
Coastal CarolinaMyrtle Beach, S.C.51-7Won Big South2009 (Chapel Hill Regional)
The Chanticleers haven't had a wealth of postseason success in the past, but plenty of people believe this is the year. The Chants have compiled an amazing record and were absolutely flawless in Big South action.
ConnecticutNorwich, Conn.47-13At-large1994 (Midwest II Regional)
One of the pleasant surprises this season, the Huskies have compiled a fantastic overall record and a very respectable RPI. The Huskies deserve to host and set a perfect example for other teams in the region. A dark horse for Omaha?
FloridaGainesville, Fla.42-15At-large2009 (Gainesville Super Regional)
Kevin O'Sullivan's Gators fell just short of reaching the CWS last season. But this season, they won the SEC regular season title and are ready to compete for the national title even with a rather young club.
Georgia TechAtlanta45-13At-large2009 (Atlanta Regional)
To absolutely no surprise, the Yellow Jackets compiled a fantastic regular season record and also put together a respectable resume. The Jackets can compete for the national title if their pitching rises to the occasion.
LouisvilleLouisville, Ky.48-12At-large2009 (Fullerton Super Regional)
Dan McDonnell's club went on the road earlier this season and took care of Mississippi. The also compiled a fantastic regular season record and resume that likely will earn them a national seed on Selection Monday.
MiamiCoral Gables, Fla.40-17At-large2009 (Gainesville Regional)
The Hurricanes certainly have left something to be desired at points this season. They also have recorded some impressive wins. The 'Canes have plenty of talent on the mound to go the distance. The offense, though, also must hold its end of the bargain to make a CWS appearance.
OklahomaNorman, Okla.44-15At-large2009 (Norman Regional)
The Sooners lost a plethora of key players to the MLB draft last season, but you'd never know that by the fact OU compiled such an impressive overall record through the Big 12 tournament. It easily was Sunny Golloway's best coaching job.
South CarolinaColumbia, S.C.43-15At-large2009 (Greenville Regional)
Sure, the Gamecocks didn't exactly play at a high level in the SEC tournament. But this team finished just a game behind Florida in the SEC regular season standings and put together a fantastic resume. South Carolina's pitching depth could cause some issues for opposing teams.
TexasAustin, Texas46-11At-large2009 (CWS final series)
The Longhorns certainly sputtered in the Big 12 tournament, but their overall body of work is fantastic and they will be a force to deal with in the NCAA tournament. Keep an eye on the Texas three-headed mound monster of Taylor Jungmann, Cole Green and Brandon Workman.
Texas ChristianFort Worth, Texas46-11Won MWC2009 (Austin Super Regional)
The Horned Frogs scheduled tough and took a series from Cal State Fullerton early in the season. The Frogs also had little trouble taking the Mountain West regular season and tournament titles. TCU definitely is a threat to get to Omaha.
UCLALos Angeles42-13At-large2008 (Fullerton Regional)
The Bruins earned a school record for wins this season and have a fantastic staff that includes a trio of starting arms in Gerrit Cole, Trevor Bauer and Rob Rasmussen, among others. UCLA will be an Omaha club if its offense meets expectations.
VirginiaCharlottesville, Va.47-11At-large2009 (College World Series)
After reaching the College World Series last season, the Cavaliers continued exactly where they left off with a dominating campaign that included the best ACC record in regular season play and a lofty ranking. Virginia is a favorite to win the national title.
